Bombyx batryticatus, a kind of Chinese traditional medicine, is the dry body of larval silkworm infected by beauveria bassiana. Bombyx batryticatus contains 6.34% ash, 67.44% protein, 11.31% water and 4.38% fattiness. It is reported that bombyx batryticatus has the effect of anticonvulsant, anticoagulant, antithrombosis, facilitating fibrinolysis, hypnogenesis, anticancer, hypoglycemia and depressing blood lipid.In this paper, the progresses of the component analysis, pharmacology and application of enzymatic hydrolysis in withdrawing Chinese traditional medicine are summarized. The principle and application of visualizing method is introduced. The enzymatic hydrolysis process of bombyx batryticatus and the effect of hydrolysis degree to the molecular weight and distribution after the enzymatic hydrolysis were studied to obtain the optimal effect in the following pharmacology research.The investigation includes mainly three sections.In the first section, the protein content of bombyx batryticatus used in the investigation was determined by kjeldahl micronitrogen determination method, and the result of 53.25% is little lower than the results reported. Hydrolysis degree used as the principal parameter, the effect of hydrolysis time, the using quantity of neutral proteinase, hydrolysis temperature, pH and the using quantity of CaCl2 activator to hydrolysis was studied by univariate analysis method, and the optimal value of univariate condition was obtained.In the second section, on the basis of univariate analysis result, the optimal values of all processes were obtained by L25 (56) orthogonal experimental method. The result showed that the most important factor is temperature, and the decreasing order of the importance of other factors is ratio of solid/liquid, hydrolysis time, proteinase, pH and CaCl2. The experiment data is processed by visualizing optimizing method to predict the optimal experimental process, which is 5% proteinase, 4.5% CaCl2, 1/5 of solid/liquid ratio, 6.2 of pH, 7.2h of hydrolysis time and 53.5℃ of hydrolysis temperature. It is proved by the test results that the processes predicted by the visualizing method are practical.In the last section, the molecular weight and distribution of the samples after the hydrolysis are determined by Mass spectrum (MS). The molecular distribution ranges from 300 to 1500 before the hydrolysis. The molecular of several substances having high content is around 500 and the distribution is relatively concentrative.
