Since the cantineoplastic activity of cis-[Pt(NH3)2Cl2] complex was discovered, the studies on the interaction of small molecules with DNA have been attracting great interest in the field of chemistry and biochemistry. The studies on interaction models and mechanism of metal complexes with DNA are very important in the fields of cantineoplastic Pharmaceuticals, molecular biochemistry and bioengineering technology. Based on the interaction of metal complexes with DNA, DNA cleavage by appropriate methods is important to acquire the formation of DNA sequence and prohibit the replication of cancer gene. The research about the rare earth and their complexes being as artificial enzymes attracts more and more attention, for they can break the phosphodiesters bonds of nucleic acids through hydrolysis with high efficiency. So we have designed and synthesized series rare earth complexes of pyridinecarboxamide and lysine schiff base. Also we have studied and compared the interaction between DNA and series complexes. This thesis consists of four sections as follows:1 Synthesis and DNA-binding properties of three pyridinecarboxamide ligands: Amide groups exist universally in the basic structure of natural...
