Environmental Planning Of Villages And Towns

Villages and towns are special areas which connect cities and countries. As located around cities, villages and towns have received a lot of benefits from big and moderate cities, and meanwhile, they play an important role in promoting their surrounding rural economy, social development and living quality. However, in construction process, decision-makers in villages and towns only pursue the economic benefits, willfully exploit resources, and neglect the ecological balance. This will lead to severe consequence of environmental pollutions and ecological damages in villages and towns. Environmental Planning of Villages and Towns (EPVT) is a synthetic approach to protect and repair the rural ecological environment. EPVT has the prefigurative character, and carries out the policy of ''prevention first and combining prevention with control''. In some sense, the EPVT is one of the most economical and effective approach to overcome the blindness in rural area construction, and prevent, cure and release environmental pollution and ecological damage. As a result, it is imperative under the situation to make further study on RAEP theoretically and practically.This dissertation uses interdisciplinary theories, such as Ecology, Landscape Ecology, Environmental Planning and Environmental Management, etc, and combines with the approaches such as reference research, community-based survey, on-site investigation, case analysis and theory summary. Based on the result of literature review and case analysis, the author makes further discussion on guiding principles of EPVT, framework of technical routes, basic content of EPVT and related approaches. Furthermore, relied on the typical cases, this dissertation also discusses how to carry out the characteristics in EPVT.
