Research On Coating Formula Of Color Ink-Jet Printing Paper

Along with speedy developing of digital technology and increasing requirement of high quality digital printing, the color ink-jet printing has been applied in more far-ranging fields. Meanwhile, the color ink-jet printing paper, as one kind of its main consumed materials, will have great market and developing potentiality. The aim of this research is to develop a kind of coating formula of color ink-jet ink paper with both better quality and lower price, which is suitable to be industrialized.In this paper, the theory of ink-jet printing technology and the function of the coated layer were introduced concisely. The basic coating compositions and characteristics of the coating for color ink-jet printing paper were discussed deeply. The properties and demands of the color ink-jet printing paper and its coating were analyzed through a lot of exploratory and orthogonal experiments, the influence on performance and quality of the coating, paper and printing, on performance and quality of the coating, paper and printing was analyzed in detail, which is decided by the quantity and characteristics of every ingredient. Meanwhile, how the calendering craft affect quality of the paper was also researched. Then, the coating formulas of the surface layer, first layer and back layer on color ink-jet printing paper were determined base on test.The coating formula of the surface layer on color ink-jet printing paper is as follows. Light calcium carbonate 55g, silicon dioxide 45g, PVA 30g, CMC 1.4g, dispersant 0.2g, antifoam 0.05~0.1g, cationic additives 5g, fluorescent whitening agent 0.1g. The coating formula of the first layer(back layer)on color ink-jet printing paper is as follows. Heavy calcium carbonate 100g, PVA 50g, CMC 1.4g, dispersant 0.2g, antifoam 0.05 ~ 0.1g. The trial-produced color ink-jet printing paper using the formulas above has great performance and printing quality.Finally, a contrasting analysis between the trial-produced color ink-jet printing paper, the sample color ink-jet printing paper and the no-coating paper was performed. The cost and profit of the trial-produced color ink-jet printing paper were also estimated in this paper. The resultsshowed that the trial-produced color ink-jet printing paper, coated with the formula coating acquired, is a kind of special coated paper with borh high quality and great profits.
