Research On Coating Formula Of Color Ink-Jet Printing Paper

Along with the far-ranging application of digitization in packaging and printing and the increasing requirement of high quality color pictures, the color ink-jet printing, with better quantity and lower price, has become the most rapidly expanding printing method. Meanwhile, the color ink-jet printing paper, as one kind of its main consumed material, will have great market potentiality. The purpose of this research is to develop a kind of coating formula of color ink-jet ink paper, which has better quality and lower price and is suitable to industrialize, and also to analyze and discuss the interrelated mechanisms.In this paper, the sorts of ink-jet printing technology, the sorts and characteristics of color ink-jet ink are introduced concisely. The sorts and characteristics of color ink-jet printing paper, the basic coating compositions and principles of the coating for color ink-jet printing paper are discussed deeply. The capabilities and demands of the color ink-jet printing paper and its coating are analyzed in detail.The coating formulas of the surface layer, first layer and back layer on color ink-jet printing paper are studied, through a lot of exploratory experiments and orthogonal experiments. Then, after coating the original paper, the trial-produced color ink-jet printing paper is produced. And then, through a lot of testing experiments and contrasting experiments, the performance and quality of the trial-produced color ink-jet printing paper and its coating are analyzed in detail. Finally, the most superior coating formula is determined.The coating formula of the surface layer on color ink-jet printing paper is as follows. Light calcium carbonate 65g, silicon dioxide 35g, PVA(1788) 55g, CMC1.8g, dispersant 0.15g, antifoam 0.05 ～ 0.1g, fixing agent 0.5g, fluorescent whitening agent 0.1g and water 446g. The coating formula of the first layer and back layer on color ink-jet printing paper is as follows. Heavy calcium carbonate 100g, PVA (1788) 50g, CMC 1.8g, dispersant 0.15g, antifoam 0.05 ～ 0.1g andwater 430g. The trial-produced color ink-jet printing paper using the formulas above has better performance and printing quality.Finally, the cost and profit of the trial-produced color ink-jet printing paper are estimated in this thesis. It is obvious that the trial-produced color ink-jet printing paper is one kind of special coated paper with great profits.
