Delivery chain system is a significant portion of bill printing press with responsibility for receiving and delivering printed sheet. Its dynamic performance directly affects the quality of sheet delivering and the performance of whole machine. Base on J98 bill printing press of Nanking Mint, this paper analyzes and studies delivery chain system dynamically to seek the influence factor of chain speed and stability, then positions the guide orbit rationally and improve the structure of chain drive system in order to meet working request of the machine, which is valuable both in theory and practical application. The main contents and innovation are as follows:(1)The causation that chain moves unsteadily is got from kinematics point basing on polygon effect. And the movement rule of chain in guide orbit is studied to gain the moving characteristic and get ready for the orbit reformative design.(2)Based on J98 bill printing press, the traditional guide orbit is discussed with kinematics theory to present the impact when chain moves. Then a new orbit is designed using 5 degree polynomial curve to eliminate impact and reduce vibration.(3)Tensile force of chain's tension side is calculated and meshing impact between chain and sprocket is gained. Sprocket wheel is remodeled by negative deflection method in order to decrease the impact. Then the correctness of theoretic analysis and rationality of redesign are verified by modeling and emulating to chain drive using SolidWorks and Adams.(4)Vibration model of chain system is established; and differential equation is created and solved to get natural frequency and mode by using multiple degree of freedom system theory. Then the gripper is put in the chain, and the vibration characteristics of chain drive system are studied. The relationship between chain parameter and vibration performance is got via Matlab. In the end, the rotate speed in sympathetic vibration is gained according to resonance theory so that resonance vibration can be avoided effectively.This paper analyzes and studies dynamic performance of delivery chain system on bill printing press through kinematics, dynamics, and vibrancy. It not only improves the quality ofsheet delivering and the performance of whole machine, but also provides a systemic analytical method for research on chain drive system like printing machine.
