Ethylene quench system is the first step of Ethylene pyrolysis gas disposal. The Gasoline fractionator is the most difficult tower in technology among all the ethylene plant's units. Quench system usually is the bottleneck of ethylene plants, which restricts the yield and general performance of ethylene mills. By means of process software PRO/II, ethylene quench system is simulated in this paper. Using the preliminary design data and real operating data of the petrochemical industry ethylene equipments of Lanzhou, some of the usual problems encountered in the operation of quench system are discussed in this paper.The composition data of pyrolysis gas has great influence on the result of simulation. But the data is highly complex and the local data is unreachable. In this paper, the data is obtained by"backing out"method. As pyrolysis gas is most composed of petroleum hydrocarbon and water, the considerably accurate results can be obtained by using equation of state SRK/PR and I/O,SURE algorithm. The quench system of Lanzhou ethylene plants, which used S&W technology, was simulated in this paper.Moreover, some deeply researches had been made in this paper by using the data of Lanzhou ethylene plants: several important parameters and their influence factors of gasoline fractionator have been involved which are including top and bottom temperature, reflux quantity of gasoline etc.Utilizing the research results of this paper, operate competence in improving the device , fully retrieve the heat of the urgent cold system, there is directive significance to reduce device energy consumption , can optimize as this system craft , dispel the trouble of producing, guide the foundation designed.
