The domestic production process and control system of water glass furnace was introduced, and also the problem of production (low melt rate, high consumptions and the out of date control system) was also present.Aimed at the problem exist in the water glass production unit of the catalyst plant of Lanzhou petrochemical company, the water glass production process was optimized, the material and structure of furnace was modified, the control level of the furnace temperature and the melting rate of the furnace was increased, the consumption was lowered, the life of the furnace was increased. the production ability was raised about 40%(from 70t/d to 96t/d), the domestic advanced DCS control system was adopted with advanced control level through all the process of water glass production, and the operation environment was improved, the employee's operation strength was eased. After the reformation, the high credibility process and stable quantity of the water glass production was obtained.After the reformation of water glass production completes, technique measurements was carried out. The results shows, within the same condition of melting area, the temperature of the water glass furnace can reached into 1400℃-1460℃,the production ability can attained 96 tons/ d, the melt rate can got 2.0tons/(m2·d), the modulus reached into 3.1-3.2, and it reached the advanced level in domestic industry. The top temperature of furnace followed from 85.1℃to 76.8℃,by reasonable control of combustion air, improve the fuel fog result and adopt new efficiently heat preservation material etc. The hot efficiency raises over 10% from 42% originally to 46.53%. The consumption of the quartz sand (wet base) descend 13.04%,the consumption of the Na2CO3 (wet base) followed 2.13% ,the yield rate raise to 94.8% with 6.4% improvement . ification.
