| This thesis has reviewed the development of numerical simulation of glass furnace including combustion chamber, glass tank and batch blanket. On the basis of integrating the theory of glass furnace and practical operating condition, a three-dimensional mathematical model for modeling the whole floating glass furnaces has been developed. In this paper, the models of combustion chamber, glass tank model, batching melting model are coupled together when calculating the flow field, temperature distribution, and the batch coverage. Through the analysis of temperature contour plot and flow field, the possibility of using natural gas instead of traditional fuel oil as the fuel of floating glass furnace is discussed.This paper has selected a floating glass furnace fired by natural gas , whose pull rate is 400 tons/day, as research object. The result shows that the three-dimensional mathematical model can reflect the real temperature distribution and flow fields of both gas and glass melt natural-gas-fired floating glass furnace. Also, it can be drawn that natural gas can be taken as a substitute of traditional heavy oil when coming to the fuel of floating glass furnace. |
