Wetland is one of the ecosystems having the richest biodiversity on the earth, generally located in the transition belt between the terricolous and the aquatic ecosystem, having some characteristics of both the terricolous and the aquatic ecosystem. Landscape ecology is a cross-discipline between geography and ecology, which take the impact of landscape structure characteristics to the biology and human activity as its research keystone, serving for the exploit of renewable nature resources and environmental protection on the landscape and region scale. Wetland is one of the ecosystem destroy the most serious by human activity in modern history, its biodiversity decrease and eco-function is also ceaseless degenerate. Carrying out the research of wetland landscape dynamic is significant to wetland protection and sustainable use.The wetland at Liaodong Bay is selected for the research area. It locates in Panjin city of Liaoning province, lies on the south end of Liaohe river delta and situated on the estuary of Shuangtai River, its main range is in the Shuangtaihekou nature reserve. In this research, we applied RS and GIS techniques to investigate the wetland landscape dynamic. First, we extract the wetland basic information from a series of artificial satellite remote sensing images of the research area during 1987 to 2005, include 5 images obtain by the Landsat TM/ETM and the CBERS-02 CCD. We acquire the foundational data via classified the remote sensing images. We analyze the landscape pattern indices of 5 years which is calculated from the foundational data, and at the same time, use the conversion matrix model to study the conversion condition of different landscape types based on the GIS technique. Finally, we use the Markov process to predict the wetland landscape structure in the future. The result showed that during 1987~2005, the category of wetland landscape in the studied area changed remarkable, large amount of natural wetland transformed into artificial wetland under the interference of human activities. Both of the landscape diversity index and the landscape evenness index have a certain extent rise, respectively increase from 1.6946 and 0.8149 of 1987 to 1.7089 and 0.8218 of 2005, it means that the heterogeneity of the wetland...
