Bucket elevator, one of the most common conveyer machines, is widely used in many regions such as metallurgy, mining, light industry, machine building, chemistry and so on. As to satisfy different demands for bucket elevator put forward by customers, parametric design seems very important.Taking bucket elevator as the research object, a parametric system for the design and manufacture of bucket elevator is established by advanced technology. the parametric drawing of the parts or the whole bucket elevator is achieved, the parametric solid modeling and the simulation of the assemble and unassemble of the bucket elevator are fulfilled and NC codes are generated in the paper.The system development is based on the method of software engineering, adopting object-oriented style, using the embedded AutoCAD language AutoLISP and VisualBasic, the way of realizing parametric CAD/CAM system are developed in detail. Making good use of parametric design technology, a drawing database which makes users easy to finish component drawing and final assembling drawing has been created. Employing VisualBasic, we make this system has friendly interface and interaction function. A database system of elevate machine has been established by means of Access ,which can be visited with DAO technology. Also we use VisualBasic's developing function to AutoCAD to realize parametric part CAM.The system is developed by means of AutoLISP on the platform of AutoCAD2004 and realized at the environment of VisualBasic.
