With the development of great volume iron-smelting blast furnace and high blast temperature technology, both the domestic and foreign not only have improve on the design of hot-blast stove, such as Nippon steel external combustion type hot-blast stove, top combustion type hot-blast stove and most commonly used internal combustion type hot-blast stove, but also bring forward new requirement for refractory. The chosen refractory is from ordinary clay brick, high alumina brick to silica brick and low creep refractory which have better high temperature, character. It is because when use ordinary high alumina brick in high temperature area of hot-blast stove, the top lattice brick will has the erosion phenomenon in different degree, that is "scorifing". so that the orifice of lattice brick will be blocked, and lattice brick in high temperature area endure the top lattice brick's heavy. It will be bring brick to dent for creep. At the top of hot-blast stove and fork in the pipeline, the main phenomenon is also the brick's crack for not have good high temperature creep character. To sum up, according to the breakage indagation result of hot-blast stove, people more and more pay attention to the creep character of refractory for hot-blast stove.The paper begin from the application of refractory in hot-blast stove , analysis the use environment of refractory ,bring forward the requirement and compare refractory which different material, and then analysis the Al2O3-SiO2 refractory for hot-blast stove theoretically. Combined with the present research situation, bring forward own experimental plan, develop and research the Al2O3-SiO2 refractory for hot-blast stove.Experiment research show that (1) Impurity content of raw material has tremendous influence to the creep rate of refractory. With the increase of glass phase, Viscosity decline and creep resistant fall;(2) Firm mullite net skeleton is the key factor of low creep refractory Preparation. (3) Corundum with higher impurity has good creep character;(4) Burn system effect the creep rate of refractory, the 1510℃×4h burn system is fitting;(5) Oxidizing atmosphere is fit for sinter of Al2O3-SiO2 product.
