The nano-CaCO3 , which was modified by modifiers, could toughen PP, especially by the aluminium coupling agent. The PP/ nano-CaCO3 modified by the aluminium coupling agent was very excellence.The mechanical property of PP/ nano-CaCO3 was increased when the PP-g-GMA-St was used a compatiblizing agent. The nano-CaCO3 ,which was modified or unmodified could improve the toughness of the composites in the system of PP/PP-g-GMA-St/CaCO3, and they had the same tendence. But the effects of plasticizing of the nano-CaCO3 modified was better than that of nano-CaCO3 unmodified. The nano-CaCO3 could toughen and reinforce PP composites when it's dosage was below 20% whether the nano-CaCO3 been modified or not.When the dosage of the nano-CaCO3 was enhanced ,the performance of composites was changed ,such as ,the melting point kept invariableness,the crystallinity descended, the crystallizing improved constantly dued to the nucleation function. The nano-CaCO3 could induce crystallization of PP ,change the crystallographic form of PP and improve the content of P-crystallographic form.
