The petrochemical equipment used in the petrochemical industries is required to develop towards high accuracy, high operating efficiency, high speed and large-scale as well as operate reliably for a long time in the conditions of high temperature, high pressure, heavy load or corrosion etc., which makes the petrochemical equipment have higher requirements on its accuracy and stricter requirements on the roughness of the machined surface and the surface integrity.Polymerization reactor is a kind of chemical equipment and it is a reactor to produce polypropylene and its internal surface is supposed to have the characteristics of abrasion-resistance, corrosion-resistance and medium-sticking proof and with the roughness value of lower than Ra 0.05μm. Only in this way can it be suitable for producing adhesive materials and improve its mechanical properties and operating efficiency. Therefore, a kind of machining method needs to be developed in order to meet the requirements of the machining of the polymerization reactor.According to the working features of the stainless steel internal surface of the polymerization reactor along with the features of the stainless steel grinding machining, and based on the comparison of its respective machining accuracy, surface roughness and production efficiency among the combined machining process by combination of electrolysis machining and grinding machining, electrolysis machining and mechanical grinding machining . And on the basis of the theoretical analysis and experiment, the combined machining process by combination of electrolysis machining and grinding machining has finally been selected as the machining process to machine the polymerization reactor.The research methods are as follows: First of all, an experiment and a test will be made on the stainless steel profile gage (with the same material of construction as that inside the internal surface of the polymerization reactor) and then the same experiment and test will be carried on the polymerization reactor. Specific procedures are as follows: a parameter will be chosen to serve as the variable among a set of parameters such as electric parameters, mechanical parameter, grinding wheel parameter and electrolyte parameters etc. and have found out the scope of optimum value for the selected parameters on the precondition of keeping other parameters unchanged, the same procedure will be done to other parameters and the scope of the optimum value for each parameter will be decided and then they will be combined together to be experimented and different parameters will be adjusted slightly so that the optimum combination of matching will be found out. The proper selection of the combined parameters will be the key to this technology.Based on a serial of research and experiments, the roughness of the internal surface of the stainless steel polymerization reactor machined has reached Ra 0.05μm. which can meet the requirement of the product quality.
