Far-infrared polypropylene knitted fabric is very convenient and has great vitality and potentialities due to its function of health caring which meets the requirement of consumers. At present, most researches on it are focusing on its spinning and basic properties during wearing, but they don't relate to the systematic research on the property of temperature rising property and heat-moisture comfort ability when material and knitting parameter changing. Therefore, we are focusing on the testing and analyzing the properties of far-infrared polypropylene filament fabrics and far-infrared polypropylene staple fiber yarn fabrics and comparing with that of normal polypropylene fabric.We knit two kinds of knitted fabric stitches in this paper, that is jersey and rib stitches on which we study the influence on temperate rising of far-infrared knitted fabric when the parameters of yarn species, fabric stitch, linear density, fabric density and the draw-off tension during knitting are changed. Orthogonal test is used to select optimum parameters of knitting density, yarn tex and draw-off tension during knitting by testing the temperature rising of far-infrared polypropylene filament rib fabrics, far-infrared polypropylene staple fiber yarn rib fabrics, far-infrared polypropylene filament jersey fabrics, and far-infrared polypropylene staple fiber yarn jersey fabrics so that the best knitting parameters could be found. The result of orthogonal test shows the fabric density and yarn tex can remarkably influence the temperature rising property of far-infrared polypropylene knitted fabric. In addition, the draw-off tension during knitting has little influence on it.Study on the heat-moisture comfort ability, such as wicking property, wetting property, moisture permeability, vapor and air transmission and warmth-retention, of far-infrared polypropylene knitted fabric when the parameters of yarn species, fabric stitch, fabric density are changed. The method of grey cluster analysis is used to research the heat-moisture comfort ability. The conclusions are show that the general heat-moisture comfort ability of the far-infrared polypropylene filament knitted fabrics are good and suitable for underwear, while the far-infrared polypropylene staple fiber yarn knitted fabrics can be the same as the health-care product, such as cuff, kneecap.On the base of orthogonal test, four fabrics with optimum knitting parameter are picked to take the washing test. We find through electron microscope that the micro-structure of far-infrared polypropylene fiber is not changed after 30 times washing. The temperature rising property and heat-moisture comfort ability of the far-infrared polypropylene filament knitted fabric drops in some sort due to the fabric structure becoming looser. However, the properties of far-infrared polypropylene staple fiber yarn knitted fabric drops comparatively much more for the reason of both the structure loosing and fiber falling off.
