In this paper, compositive research techniques including of theoretical analysis and laboratory analysis, physics and numerical simulation, in-situ measurement are carried out to investigate into movement laws of overlying strata, mechanical composite structure types of overburden strata and fractured zone of mining under thick aquiferous loose bed in WuGou mine. Physicical mechanics capability and variation characteristics of efflorescent bedrock are analyzed and engineering geologic model reflecting the rules of overlying strata movement and damage of weak bedrock shallow embedding is modeled. The results, the immediate roof collapse step pitch, main roof first weighting step pitch, periodic weighting step pitch, are obtained during face 1011 winning. Developed configuration of the fracturation zone is analyzed, and reasaonble width of waterproof rock-coal pillar under thick aquiferous loose bed is obtainded, and mining toplimit is improved. The results can provide theoretical basis for improving the recovery of mine and coal mining under water-bodies. At the same time, the results have guiding to improve mining toplimit for this mine and other similar conditions mine.
