Based on the state-of-the-art of structural analysis of machine tool,considering the lower of process precision of surface grinder, and taking ANSYSas the platform, and using its secondary development tools, this article developedthe surface grinding machine finite element analysis system which has Chineseinterface and integrate the parametric modelling, the finite element analysis, theoptimized analysis, the thermal analysis, and the contact analysis. Withdevelopment of this system, the feasibility that regards ANSYS as the platform ofdeveloping professional module was verified and working eficiency wasimproved.Firstly, This article applied the secondary development technique of ANSYSto surface grinding machine finite element construction analysis and developed apractical procedure Mold piece and set it in ANSYS as a part of theprogrammer. This procedure mold piece is a creative achievement for surfacegrinding machine construction analysis. The essential method and procedureincluded in this article for the secondary development of ANSYS have awidespread applicability. Secondly, It took static and modal analysis to the grinding machine parts(for example planker, pillar), by combining secondary development interfaces,improved the construction. Based on the improved projects, three kinds of plankerand pillar was optimized by using Sub-Problem method in ANSYS, after then,the weight of planker and pillar was decreased separately 21.54% (486.9kg),14.46% (327.5kg), 19.3%(437.8kg); Z axis distortion decreased separately16.43%,24.2%,26.02%, and the natural frequency also little change.At Last, the original surface grinder was field tested, the result indicated thatthe planker has pitching distortion, effect the process precision of grinder.Compared the analysis result with the test result, finally discovered, the ballscrew structure transmission gap and wedge is the primary factor which affect theprocess precision of surface grinder.The result of static analysis, dynamic analysis and improved projects willprovide significant reference for the design and structure improvement of surfacegrinder.
