Acrylic-latex has been excellent overall properties and widely used in coatings, adhesives, leather engineering and fabric disposal, etc. However the structures of the main chains and polar side group of the polyacrylates seriously affect their performance. Organic silicon has more stable Si-Si bond than C-C and C-O bond of polyacrylates, and lower surface tension, which contribute to the good heat -resistance, and water-resistance. So it is difficult for the pollutants, such as water, to absorb onto the organic silicon. Therefore to copolymerize the quite different acrylates and silicon can obtain the new materials which combine the characteristics of both of them, and it is significant not only in theory but also in applications. Besides, the microemulsion-based product is water -dispersing system and therefore meets the requirement of environmental protection due to its little VOC emission. The main results of the paper are as follows:1. Factors affecting the oil solubility of the O/W microemulsions, such as surfactant, cosurfactant, silane coupling agent and reaction temperature, were systematically investigated. The results showed that the optimum components of the formed transparent and stable microemulsions is 10% mass fraction of surfactant, with 1:1 mass ratio of OP-10 to SDS; the 1:2 mass ratio of surfactant to 1-pentanol(cosurfactant).2. The organosilicon-modified polyacrylate micoremulsions by semicontinuous method have better polymerization stability and centrifugal stability than those by batch method. The microemulsion polymerization, with (NH4)2S2O8-NaHSO3 as redox initiator and temperature of 70℃can obtain 90% monomer conversion within 80min. The synthesized organosilicon-modified polyacrylate micoremulsions have good acid-, base-, electrolyte-resistance, and dilution, and centrifugal stability, etc.But3. With increase in KH570 content from5% to 7%, The results show that the electrolyte stability and thermo stability The post thermal treatment organosilicon-modified polyacrylate coatings has better thermal stability and stronger characteristic absorption peak intensity ascribed to SiOH and Si-O-Si groups, as compared with those without post thermal treatment. This indicates that thermal treatment can accelerate the condensation between Si-OH and therefore upgrade the crosslinking density.4. The consolidation test shows that the penetration depth can reach 2cm within lh, SEM indicate that the microemulsions can fill in the pores between the soil particles, and support the soil. In addition, the consolidated soils have good acid-, base-.
