Nowadays, asbestos is the focus problem because it has polluted the environment as a cancer dose. Otherwise, we can't neglecte the dangers resulting from the replaces of asbestos. So the research of next new friction material should be pay attention to the development of environmental fiber. In addition, the weight metal pollution and noise pollution are also taken into account. The research on the replaces of weight metal and eliminating noise pollution is the key point of Biology tribology and environmental tribology.The research of high performance brake wear material is general trends, which is developed for the high speed train(160-250Km/h) and the top grade automobiles .Nowadays, there are two kinds of brake wear materials the powder metallurgy friction materials and the composites. The first have good brake performance but high price and wearing anti-disk, the latter are used widely in the trains and have low price. There are main weakness that high density, easy de-composite, and waved friction coefficient. Many work we concern is putting on resins' modification and the replaces of asbestos material, meanwhile, the weight metal and the noise pollution are very serious but not being paid attentions enough.With the development of the vehicle technique, there are higher requirements for friction materials. For example, the temperature can reach 300-500 centigrade on the front brake disks of cars and the temperature can exceed 600 centigrade indeed on the brake disks when trains brake. There are two great shortcomings environmental performances and high temperature performances in our nations, so, This is a matter of great urgency developing a Environmental and high performance friction material.The preparation of composites with additives, and then friction characters and wear characters are tested, The TEM samples preparation mainly contains Tuned Piezo Cutting , Coating and Stacking Wafer, Precision Low-speed Saw Cutting, Disc Grinder Polishing, Dimple Grinder Dimpling and Polishing, Precision Ion Polishing. Some reactions and forms mechanism of friction layer are found through TEM. The testing results are analyzed and discussed systemly.In formula design, reducing the content of heavy metal, and the content heavy metal and asbestos are detected according to Bosch and federal mogul standard .The environment effect of friction materials are analyzed carefully.
