Liquid EPDM is the ethylene-propylene-diene polymer with relatively low molecular weigh, so it has low viscosity. At present, the curing behavior of liquid EPDM was seldom reported, and it is one of hotspots of rubber development. Therefore, the cross linking density of liquid EPDM vulcanized by DCP, and curing behavior and mechanical properties were studied in this paper. It was sulfured at 170 centigrade temperature with average pressure , and investigated through Gel content and machanical proprties. With the change of DCP, TAIC, Zn (MAA)2 and fusain,the crosslink structures and mechanical properties of EDPM changed regularly.TAIC as the cross-linking agent were ususlly added to liquid EPDM. TAIC with three vinyl groups can increase the reaction extent by increasing the reactive groups. The monomer of Zn (MAA)2 was polymerized in rubber mixture, and Some of them was grafted at molecule clain of rubber. Rubber gained excellent higher hardness with plentiful solt linkages produced cross-linking. At same time, ,with itself homopolymizing , some namo particles and micron particles were produced. It can obviously improve rubber hardness. So cross-linking and intension of rubber has remarkably improved.when the 12phr TAIC, 4phr DCP, 60phr Zn (MAA)2 and 80phr fusain were added, the crosslink structures of EDPM has the best general properties.Gel content was 98.8%, the break tensile was up to 1.3 MPa, and elongation at break was 70%.
