In this paper, the structures and components of CYD128 epoxy resin was analyzed in order to solve some problems happened during the application of it, such as floating and much lower hardness in epoxy resin self-leveling floor. And a better and more useful recipe and techniques for self-leveling floor based was invented on epoxy resin. The preparation condition and techniques of synthesis of epoxy resin have been researched by controlling the reaction conditions in order to reduce side reaction, improve epoxy equivalent and ensure the quality of home-made epoxy resin. As a result, the quality and performance of our home-made epoxy resin can be compared well with the advanced epoxy resin.During the studies of epoxy resin, some researches and tests were done. Including:1. Using FTIR, high performance GPC and gel time to analyze structureand performance of CYD128 epoxy resin. Experimental esults show that the epoxy value of CYD128 is much smaller, the viscosity of CYD128 is much higher than advanced epoxy resin sold by overseas corporation and gel time of CYD128 is too long when the curing temperature is less than twenty degree.2. The test of column separation method of CYD128 epoxy resin discovers the relationship between components and ratio of flowing phase to the separation effect. And the results tell that the best condition of separation of the epoxy resin mixture is when the ratio of acetic ether, Cyclohexane and chloroform is 1:2:2. In this method, we can obtain three components separately in one time. The first part is large molecule epoxy resin (n=l). The second part is smaller molecule epoxy resin (n=0). The third part is polar component. The epoxy indexes of such three components are 0.628, 0.256, 0.2057 by analyzing the statistics of FTIR. Using FTIR and method of separation weight, we confirm that the contents of components, whose n equals 0 and 1 and the polar component are 75%—80%, 15—20%, 4%—5% of CYD128 epoxy resin. Then I analyze the polar component ofepoxy resin using ESI-MS, and find the main components are various molecular weight chlorhydrin. I also make clear structures of various molecular weight components.3. By selecting and adjusting the type of the dosage of active thinner and dispersant, I successfully resolve the problem that there are some disatisfied phenomenon such as bubbling, floating and flooding. Finally I have invented a recipe and technique which can be applied to the auto-flow floor epoxy resin. 4. The influence of the reaction condition to the epoxy index and color of epoxy resin have been studied carefully. The results show that the epoxy index increases from 0.560 to 0.585 and the color of epoxy becomes lighter with the mole ratio of ECH to BPA changing from 6 to 12 gradually; due to the color of the epoxy resin becoming deeper when the time of adding NaOH solvent surpass 4 hours, I decide the adding time is better to be 3 hours; the best concentration of NaOH is 45%, because I notice that the epoxy index is increasing from 0.568 to 0.585 when the concentration is changing from 30% to 50%. In addition, I find that the velocity of adding NaOH is also important for deciding the epoxy value, color and quality of the synthesized epoxy resin. So after some tests, I choose using the mechanical force machine instead of the constant pressure drive to add NaOH, by which high epoxy index 0.593 has been obtained and this method makes the quality of our home-make epoxy exceed the advanced and imported epoxy product.5. In order to reduce the color and improve the appearance of epoxy resin, I notice that using the silica gel as a sorbent and chloroform, ethyl acetate or chloroform/ ethyl acetate as a spreading agent can make our epoxy resin colorless and transparent.
