This paper is aimed to solve the problem of low efficiency, bad accuracy and high demand on the workers' technical level when the center hole of axis parts is machined on the common lathe, through the technical reform of the common lathe. This article detailedly discusses the design and method of automatic control hardware system of the common lathe re-equipped to special numerical control machine which machines the center hole of axis parts.First, the fuzzy synthesis judgment theory is used to establish axis center hole evaluation model, to theoretically prove, that under the present working condition, it is economical and feasible that the conventional lathe is re-equipped to the special numerical control machine.Second, the hardware control system design proposal is provided to respectively discuss the data acquisition signal AID conversion, the PCI connection design and step-motor driving. In Hardware, a sensor modulate circuitry, input modulus conversion design, the interface design of modulus conversion chip and PCI9052, and the design of step motors drive circuitry are realized.Then, the control system driver and the application procedure are developed based on VtoolsD and Visual C++.
