Study On Solid Waste Property In Townships In Three Gorge Reservoir Area

As it is known to all that it has been a world-wide concern to protect the ecological environment of Three Gorges Reservoir Area. With the rising of the water-level and the slowing down of the water flow and the dispersal ability of pollutants, water self - purification in tie reservoir decreases. Through the investigation around the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, domestic refuse becomes a serious problem which has threatened the ecological environment of Three Gorges Reservoir Area. To solve this problem, sixty refuse treatment facilities will be built in the small towns of those areas during the"eleventh five-year plan"in China. Therefore, it is very essential to investigate and analysis the characteristics of the domestic garbage in those areas, and then find out the affecting factors to provide basic data for the refuse treatment in the small towns of Three Gorges Reservoir Area in future.This paper analyzes the affecting factors of refuse in the small towns of Three Gorges Reservoir Area. At first, the author chose some typical small towns out of the towns all. Then, through the investigation, material about local conditions such as the population, natural environment, resources as well as social economy were collected. And then, water-content, bulk density and other components in the refuse were analyzed. Through statistical analysis, each degree of influence factors is determined and social economy is the most important factor. Meanwhile, the correlation between social economy and characteristics of the domestic garbage is determined. Combined with the investigation and the result of experiment, proper patterns and methods to treat the refuses in small towns of Three Gorges Reservoir Area have been pointed out. Besides, According to different treatment ways, the author divided those small towns into three regions: the means of compost is suitable for small towns which average GDP is over 10000 yuan per person each year, including the nine districts in the main city, Jiangjin, Fulin and Changshou; the means of landfill is fit for small towns which average personal GDP is below 6000 yuan each year, including Fengdu, Zhongxian, Shizhu, Yunyang, Fengjie, Wushan and Wuxi county; While the per capita GDP is between 6000 yuan and 10000 yuan each year, it is proper to adopt the treatment of landfill and compost, and the chief treatment measure is landfill. Those areas are Wanzhou, Wulong and Kaixian.
