Along with widely prevalence of digital control technology, numerically-controlled machine tool has one type of tool high working accuracy and automation, have some features such as high rate, flexibility and so on, meet the case of the future machining. But when fault happens in it, produce will be affected. So it is necessary to hold the technology and methods of diagnoses of fault of numerically-controlled machine tool. Along with the widely use machine tool, it is necessary and urgent for the high technicians who use NC technique to get diagnosis the fault. There is a problem that lack the open environment in teaching, research that run through the whole diagnosis the fault. So it is necessary to build a platform in teaching and research based on the exploitation of the CNC. This paper researches to build an open architecture NC platform for NC teaching, researching, and exploitation in colleges. It is to meet requirements of senior NC students training.The article research thorough on the system structure,the hardware connection and the PMC ladder of FANUC-0i. Then made an offer of hardware form and software implementation of system based on NC diagnosis last. In the article, firstly research deeply on the theory of NC diagnosis the fault, mostly discussed the constitutes of the system,the reliability,technology and the basic require for the NC maintain, and get a conclusion of the method and the peculiarity of the diagnosis. Next focus on the system of connection,parameter and the PMC ladder, design the hardware structure and the theory of electric, and introduce the application of modification and edit in PMC ladder. Last stress the method of fault setting,analysis and eliminate by modifying the PMC ladder during the diagnosis platform through the examples, provide the idea and technique of the platform to set up remote diagnoses system of fault of numerically-controlled machine. The article which is based on theoretical investigation and practical experience of craft brother, besides explores and research in theories, has definite innovate and prolongation. The research and development of platform have some instructional significance for NC students' cultivation in colleges.
