| With the application popularity and rapid development of computer technology, Mechanical CAD / CAE technology has been developing rapidly, and widely used in machinery, electronics and other engineering fields. As advanced production technic, Forging plays an important role in industry. Therefore, it would be highly important to study on the structure and production technics of forging equipment-press and accelerate the application of Mechanical CAD / CAE technology.The CAD system of press has been developed based on the research on working principle and manufacturing technics of press. It has achieved the function of scientific management and parametric modeling of accessory and components of press. Simultaneously, through the study on YHC-1000,the pedestal, as an important component of press has been analyzed, and the improvement project has been put forward based on finite element analysis software ANSYS. In the course of the study, the application of mechanical CAD/CAE technology in the design and manufacture of press has been discussed.The close combination of the technology of mechanical CAD/CAE and design and manufacture of press has been carried through, thus accelerating further application of mechanical CAD/CAE technology, and the result of the research would be provided with certain guiding significance and reference value for the press design.
