The problem of scale is a key problem in landscape ecology. As an important means to understand how landscape patterns form and the formation mechanism of processes, and to understand the interconnections and interactions between different landscape in the hierarchy, the scaling problems of landscape has attracted more and more ecologists' interests. The most of ecological researches are carried out in small area and for a short period, difficult to be repeated. Therefore, it is difficulty to understand the ecological patterns and occurrence mechanism of processes at broader spatial or longer time scales, even though it is very important to identify the phenomenon at broad scales. To solve these broad-scale problems, it is necessary to extrapolate or translate information from one scale to another, showing, the importance and necessity of scaling research.Based on the analysis of the domestic and international scaling studies on the basis of the status quo, summarized the basic theory and research methods of scaling or relative. The purpose of this work is to study cross-scale relations and interactions in agricultural ecosystems of Anlu City. Based on data on cropland use change, fossil energy and pesticide consumption and energy productivity from 1995-2005. The whole region was divided into six increasing geographic scales, and the impact of one scale on the broader ones was assessed through a simple analysis of energy productivity. Regression analysis was used to determine cross-scale interactions, it provides a referential evidence for scaling researches.Full text studies content allotted five parts, principally as follows:The first part is an introduction. Mainly expounded the paper research background, domestic and foreign research status and progress, research objective and research content. The second part is the theoretical basis. Summarized domestic and international standards of theoretical research progress about scale. Analysis focused on the importance of scaling research. Induction the hierarchy theory, fractal theory and other theories related to scaling problem. The third part is the research of scale problems in agricultural ecosystems. This paper focuses on the scaling problem in agro-ecosystems. After analysis of the choice of scale and ways to identify domains of scale and ways to identify characteristic scale, presented by the specific research methods to study scaling in the agricultural ecosystem. The fourth part is case study. This study takes Anlu City of Hubei Province as a case. First, we analyze the study's basic situation, according data on cropland changes, fertilizer and pesticide consumption and crop yield in the years about Anlu City agricultural ecosystem to analysis conducted. Try to quantify the interaction and mutual influence between different scales in Anlu City agro-ecosystems.The fifth part is discussion and conclusions, which summaries the innovative points in this dissertation as well as shortcomings.
