With the development of science and technology, the yield and the quality of plate rolling mill have gradually become the first targets of strip production. Strip thickness and shape have been the two most important key technologies in the rolling field. As compared with developed country, the assembling level of small and middle types rolling mill of our country is still very behindhand, the lagging in technique, low in output and the poor quality make the poor production be short of competitive power. It has need of technological transformation.For increasing the over-all properties of rolling mill and to counter the current problems of rolling mill ofφ300×400 the paper gives studies and analyses of a plant, and also studies the plate rolling mill ofφ500×800 which will plan to be developed.First of all, on the basis of bouncing equation and combined bouncing equation curve of rolling mill and mould curve of strip to have rolled, the paper analyses the affection of various disturbing factors to the export thickness of strip to having been rolled. On the basis of analysis of AGC system of rolling mill and its run-mechanism and considering the dynamic characteristic of hydraulic control system, the paper introduces structure of the integrative model of electro-mechanism and hydraulics of rolling mill, also analyses the principle of thickness error and discusses the equivalent stuffiness, variable stiffness, etc. of rolling mill.Elastic deformation of roller and mill is major factor that affects on working clearance, flatness and thickness accuracy during the period of rolling strip. Based on rolling pressure calculation model that was taken consideration of roller piece elastic deformation, the paper explains the optimization design for roller system parameter of rolling mill. In this paper, to counter the analysis of stiffness of preloaded stress of rolling mill and the test and calculation of the preloaded stress, it shows that the stiffness of rolling mill with preloaded stress can be increased more than 2 times. Meanwhile, the paper analysis also how to confirm the pulling rod, sectional area of the mill frame and the pre-tightening force to provide the basis that make full use of big potential energy and gives reliable work of the rolling mill. The essential parameters of the system are calculated and selection of major parts are also introduced, except that, taking Windows XP as its O.S. and MATLAB simulation software is used to do simulation according to model of established AGC system in this paper. The result studied shows that the system designed has quicker despondence and better anti-interference characteristic.The paper analyses stiffness of the rolling mill, thickness and shape control, etc. of strip from theory, studied result provides a basis for the development and progress of small size rolling mill.
