The customers have brought forward more strict demands for strip quality along with increase of strip requirements. The level of equipment and technology for strip production is being improved as far as possible all over the world. As a result, temper mills are put to use widely. The study on structure of temper mill and composite control of shape and elongation and calculation model of temper rolling force are becoming more significant practically.Firstly, a new bending device by means of pure couple to make rolls bend is adopted for innovated 2h temper mill. This new bending device is different from other bending facilities in avoiding bending force acting on the bearings, screwdown and slanders in order not to counteract bend deformation of rolls and not to reduce vertical rigidity of roll bending. The dimensions of new bending device, the permitted dimensions of bending bearing chocks and allowable bending couple value are defined according to the slander dimensions of PanSteel 1450 temper mill. Roll bending bearings are selected, the minimum distance between two group of bearings are calculated, the loaded force of roll is analyzed and the strength of roll, bending board and age limit of bending bearing are checked.Two subschemes are put forward on the base of the general scheme of 2h adding roll bending and roll profile in order to innovate PanSteel 1450 temper mill. One is roll bending adding roll profile combined with electric screwdown and bending device for composite control strip shape and elongation. The other is roll bending adding roll profile combined wilh hydraulic screwdown, meanwhile, hydraulic screwdown conlrol elongation and roll bending device control strip shape. The diagrams of bending device and system control flow charts of two schemes are drawn. The parts need to be increased or innovated and expense of two schemes are compared in order to evaluate the feasibilities of them.One of composite control system of strip shape and elongation of the technical innovation schemes is designed. The essential parameters of system are calculated, ihe selections of main parts are inlroduced and characteristics of system are analyzed through analyzing the basic equations and transfer functions.For the first time, the queslion of inhomogeneous stress distribution along the Ihickness of strip on the condition of totally elastic contact between roll and strip is solved by the means of two dimensional problem theory of elasticity. A new rolling force model is put forward for temper rolling strip mill on the base of this.is put forward for temper rolling strip mill on the base of this.The experiments to measure elongations, transverse thickness distribution and rollingforce are finished on BaoSteel 2050 temper mill. The computing results from this model are coincident with experiments well.Optimizing design of roll profile and emulation calculations of flatness and transverse thickness distributions for typical products of PanSteel are finished. Finally, The scopes of strip thickness for three steel grades, which can be temper rolled on a certain condition, are presented for reference.
