Along with the demand of the straight welded-pipe mills increasing, the domestic design work of the mill is start. In the forming process of the welded-pipe, whether the forming processing parameters are reasonable or not, which is touch the quality of the welded-pipes, even which is related to the flaw of the pipes. And the work is very hard which always goes with empirical estimate. The forming processing parameters designing is related to the analysis work closely. The shape of the pipe and the laws of the strain and stress distribution are got by the analysis of the forming process, which could provide reference for the mill equipment and process design.According to all the technological parameters in the forming process, the fixing measures are got, such as the roller's shape size,the stand spacing and up-down spacing. Then the cage roller are fixed, and the initial condition of the pipe forming is given.By use of elastic-plastic finite element analysis method, the forming process of straight welded-pipe is simulated, which is involved in geometric nonlinear, material nonlinear and contact nonlinear problem. By simulating the forming process of straight welded-pipe, the distribution of deformation, contact, and stress is obtained, which is essential theoretical basis for studying on technological design of forming process of straight welded-pipe.By use of the shell forming theory, the force parameters of the forming process are calculated. A engineering calculation formula about force parameters is got, according to the experiment.At the same time, the experimental research of the forming process is carried out. The result of the experiment establish the soundness and reliability of the simulation module, and the distribution and size of the rolling force and rolling moment is revealed, which could provide reference for the adjustment of the processing parameters.In a word, the numerical simulation and experimental research in the article is carried out. The distribution of pipe deformation is dicussed, and formula about force parameters is got, which could provide reference for the home design of the straight welded-pipe mill..
