Food and drug play an important role in human life. Foods provide not only chemical substance that is necessary for body building, but also energy that is necessary for sporting or working too. And drug can cure, especially can help people far from sickness.More and more problems come up with the development of social industry. First, in order to sell products as many as possible, the food manufacturer adds a lot of chemical substances to keep it excellent color, shape and taste. But the safety of addition was doubled. In fact, a lot of toxic food was reported. Second, many pharmaceutical factories have not enough technology for the detection of produces. As results of that a lot of fake and under proof drugs come into hospital or house, which make patients invalid or die. So, it is important to search a simple, rapid and exact method for determination. Ion selective electrode (ISE) just has those virtues. Therefore, we prepared a few ion selective electrodes for the determination of Methamidophos, ofloxacin, and ciprofloxacin.1,A review of application of the ion selective electrode in food and pharmaceutical analysis.Ion selective electrode is suitable to use for food and pharmaceutical analysis due to the method is rapid, accurate, simple and suitable sensitivity. Especially, it doesn't influenced by color and deposition of the test solution.This part reviews the results of ISE in food and pharmaceutical analysis in past three decades. And we start my academic activity.2,Preparation and application of Methamidophos Selective ElectrodeA newly developed methamidophos ion-selective electrode (M-ISE), by incorporating PVC-membrane with Methamidophos-tetraphenylboron ion pair complex on glass electrode, is reported in this presented paper. Its response mechanism and performance of the M-ISE were studied. It is found that the M-ISE's nernst response to methamidophos falls into the concentration range of 1×10-2~1×10-4(v/v) with slope of 50.3mV/pC. The M-ISE has been used for detection of pesticide residue methamidophos in vegetable sample with satisfactory results.3,Preparation of a novel ofloxacin selective electrode and application in pharmaceutical analysisThe ofloxacin-phosphomolybdic ion pair based ofloxacin selective electrode was compared with ofloxacin-Tetraphenylborate ion pair based electrode. The result shows the ofloxacin selective electrode ofloxacin-Tetraphenylborate ion pair as electricactive substance and tetraphenylborate as addition give the best performance. Furthermore, the selectivity is improved too. The electrode was used for pharmaceutical analysis, and the result is satisfaction.4,Preparation of a high selectivity ciprofloxacin potentiometric sensor and its application to pharmaceutical analysisCiprofloxacin ion-selective electrode, incorporating PVC-membrane with ciprofloxacin -phosphomolybdic ion pair complex and sodium tetraphenylborate on glass electrode, is reported. The electrode gave Nernst response to ciprofloxacin over the concentration range of 5×10-3~5×10-5(mol/l) with slope of 50.6mV/pC. The electrode shows excellent selectivity so that it can be used for detection of real sample as some pharmaceutical formulations, and the result is satisfaction.
