Since the environmental diplomacy emerged in the 1970s, it has been a part of and playing an increasingly important role in American diplomacy. The release of"the environmental diplomacy"by the State Department in 1997 symbolized the environmental diplomacy merge in the mainstream of its foreign policy.Research on the United States Environmental Diplomacy, we can understand and grasp the essence of U.S. environment diplomacy, grasp the overall the environment Diplomacy significance. The United States, as the world's only superpower after the Cold War, has always wanted to play a leading role in international affairs, certainly in environmental diplomacy. Research on the environmental diplomacy, we can understand the international cooperation well and we can defend our interests in cooperation and cooperate with the United State.Based on the first-hand materials from the U.S. State Department, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Department of Energy and other governmental agencies, my theme conduct a primary and comprehensive research of the post-cold war American environmental diplomacy.The full theme is divided into three parts.The first part introduces the background of American environmental diplomacy and the four main stages of its development.The second part discusses the contents and features of American environment diplomacy after the Cold War including environmental diplomacy toward the neighboring countries, multilateral environmental diplomacy, and the environment on the developing countries and China.The third part evaluates American environmental diplomacy in the post-Cold War, concludes its contributions to global environment protection while pointing out the essence of environment diplomacy is to led rule-making, serves the economic interests and shapes the moral image of U.S.
