In this paper, acrylate latex adhesives with good cohesion, environmental friendly and low temperature resistance was prepared through general emulsion polymerization or soap emulsion polymerization respectively, the optimal synthesize conditions and corresponding influences were studied in detail.The acrylic emulsion latex with stability and high conversion was synthesized by pre-emulsified and hemi-continuous emulsion polymerization. The optimal conditions is that the agitating rate is 100-150 rpm, polymerization time is 4 hour, polymerization temperature is controlled 80-82℃.The effects of the kinds and amounts of emulsifier, initiator, protective colloid, buffer as well as functional monomers on emulsion polymerization behavior and product properties were investigated in length. The results showed that the best soap system is SDS with OP-10 and the dosage is 2.5 wt% to total monomers, the best ratio is 2.25:1; the amount of ammonium persulfate is 0.6 wt% to total monomers; the dosage of PVA-5088 is 1.0 wt%; the dosage of functional monomer acrylic acid is 3.0 wt%.Polyacrylate latex adhesive containing tackifier were synthesized through in suit polymerization, during the procedure, the acrylate monomers was mixed with many different kinds of tackifier. The test results of IR and DSC have proved that all monomers were polymerized and the Tg is -16℃. Based on above experiments the best capability latex can be gained if the proportion of tackifier is fit appropriately.Two low-soap emulsion polymerization procedures were researched, one of which is dissolving tackifier in acrylate monomers through one step and another one is multi-steps to synthesize acrylate copolymer latex adhesive. The adhesive gained by multi-steps behaved high strippling strength and achieved to 32.5N/25mm. However, compared with the outcome by one step result, the store stability is weak. The optimal reaction ratio during first method(the amount of it 0.5 wt%) was studied, and stable emulsion product with high performance was made.The novel emulsifier (EL-1 and EL-2) and reactive emulsifier, functional monomer(QM-1458) were taken to the emulsion polymerization to synthesized acrylate copolymer latex adhesive through two steps pre-emulsifying. The peeling strength can be reach to 31.8N/25mm when amount of COPS-1 0.5%, QM-1458 3.0% and the solid content is 60%. The freeze-thaw stability, centrifugal stability and diluted stability of the product were all accord with the professional standard.
