Styrene-acrylic emulsion is the copolymer emulsion that prepared by Styrene and acrylic monomer. Styrene take part in the copolymerized reaction, styrene chain segments is introduced in the polymer, so as to improve the water resistance of the coating, alkali resistance, hardness, resistance and powdering resistance, and the cost was lower than that of pure acrylic emulsion. But common styrene-acrylic emulsion has many problems, such as the minimum film forming temperature on the high side, low calcium ion stability, emulsion viscosity cannot adjust effectively. The experimental use of soap free emulsion synthesis method, the styrene-acrylic emulsion system was studied. By using a small amount of reactive emulsifier D, using pre-emulsified semi-continuous dropping process of synthesis of soap free emulsion. In addition, in order to make soap free emulsion for fabric printing can achieve better feeling of Soap-Free Acrylic emulsion, we conducted a silicone modified.In this paper, using styrene, butyl acrylate, acrylic acid, isooctyl ester and some functional monomer synthesis of soap free styrene acrylic emulsion, Then determined the best process of emulsion polymerization: temperature80~82℃, the amount of reactive emulsifier D is0.6%(on total monomer acrylic heavy, the same below), initiator is0.8%, emulsifying time is half an hour, pre-emulsion dropping time of1hour, holding time1hour.In the styrene-acrylic emulsion printing test, by changing the amount of each component in printing paste, baking temperature, baking time and other factors, test these variables on the printed fabric fastness and handle of influence, then determine the best pigment printing process.Text the appearance and stable performance of styrene-acrylic emulsion. In addition, study that the synthesis of soap free acrylate emulsion thermal properties, structure and so on by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy and other equipments.Through the experiments, the self-made acrylate emulsion has higher solid content (40%-50%), and the stability are better. The self-made styrene-acrylate emulsion for fabric printing, its color fastness are good, its application performance is superior to the traditional industrial adhesives. In addition, the silicone modified silicone-acrylate emulsion can improve the fabric handle. Therefore, the self-made styrene-acrylate emulsion is an excellent printing adhesive which all aspects of performance are well.
