Water transfer printing technique is a printing mode that using the water pressure, print the ink to materials. The water transfer printing sheet is a solubility sheet in the water transfer printing, which loads the ink and connects the water surface. Its capability is very important for the quality of the water transfer printing. With the polyvinyl alcohol 1788 (PVA) as main raw material and glycerin as plasticizer, in this paper the modification of water transfer PVA sheet was investigated through the addition of the different surfactant, the sheet is not curled, however with the increase of HLB number, the capability of the PVA sheet in the water decreased. It could be indicated from the result that the extending time and dissolving time of sheet in the water got shorter, and the elongation in water was bigger.Otherwise, with the polyvinyl alcohol 1788 (PVA) as main raw material, glycerin as plasticizer and glycerin ether as surfactant ,through the addition of 0%-2.5% starch, it could be indicated from the result that after the adding of starch to the sheet, the viscosity of the PVA solution increased, the dissolution time of the sheet got longer, the elongation in water was smaller, the rate of moisture became smaller, tensile strength enhanced and the change of shape diminished; also it could be seen from the surface of sheet that the starch existed in PVA sheet as the shape of conglomerating particle. Though research, it has been found that the water solubility of water transfer sheet has bccn improved obviously, after adding the starch to the PVA sheet. Then using the way of ultrasonic scattering, the starch is processed and can be scattered in the PVA sheet better. After processed by ultrasonic shaking, the performance of the sheet improved. The dissolution time of the sheet got longer, the elongation in water was smaller, the rate of moisture became smaller, tensile strength enhanced and the change of shape diminished, and in the sheet the starch is scattered better. The performance of the sheet is not obviously different with the foreign advanced water transfer sheet. Finally the whole direction and process technique is established.
