The welding process of the rotating arc sensor is very complicated. Theparameters of the rotating arc sensor included the welding current, welding voltage,welding speed, rotating radius, rotating frequency and rotating orientation areoperated to the welded seam. In order to produce the good weld geometry, we mustpredict the temperature field. In this paper, the temperature field and the optimalsettings of the rotating arc sensor welding process parameters have been studied.According to the characters of the rotating arc sensor welding, based on fiat MIG(metal inert-gas arc welding), the better welding process parameters which arewelding current, voltage, rotating frequency, rotating direction and welding rate areselected through the experiments. The multi-factor mathematical table is used toarrange experiments. Based on ANSYS platform, the proper finite element model wasbuilt. The program was designed to solve the GAUSS function and moving rotatingheat loading, and the three-dimensional dynamical temperature field for build-upwelding was obtained. The result of calculation was controlled within the acceptablerange. The conclusion is confirmed by the experiment. The affection of the weldingcurrent, welding voltage, welding speed, rotating radius, rotating frequency androtating orientation on welding temperature field were analyzed through thesimulation of the temperature field. Based on MATLAB, the purpose of this studybased on BP neural network and Simple Genetic Algorithms (SGA) is to decideoptimal settings of the rotating arc sensor welding process parameters which producethe good weld geometry. The affection of the rotating radius, rotating frequency androtating orientation on seam were analyzed. The compare between the result ofsimulation and the experiment is similar.The theoretical foundations of the choice of the rotating arc sensor weldingprocess parameters will be provided after the completion of this paper. The time andmaterial resources will be saved.
