In this dissertation,a research has been made on the re-melt deposited welding of copper-aluminum,experiments with different parameters had been done to work out a suitable welding proceduce, and then test the mechanical properties of joint to certify the key points on the welding of copper and aluminum.First of all,the common materials which only have to take some pretreatment had been used to test the simmilar problems of copper-aluminum joint, then determine a suitable process.Secondly, some different types of aluminum was deposited on copper by Al-Cu re-melted deposit welding, including pure aluminum 1060 and 4047 (the alloy of Al and S i),the types of copper are also contain pure copper T2 and the alloy of Cu and Zn,such as H62 and H90.Metallographic,observation of SEM and EDAX analysis and the shear strength test are used for indicating the quality of connection. The testing result of Al-T2 and Al-H62 welding joints are worse than AlSi-T2 and AlSi-H90,there are two different materials to protect the welding metal out of touching oxygen, ZnCl2+NH4Cl+NaF and KF+AlF3,the quality of joints are better by using ZnCl2+NH4Cl+NaF. In order to reduce intermetallic compound, the chemical nickel plating method are used for adding nickel plated on copper. Then, experiments between these nikel plated copper and aluminum was done. Finally, the result showed that the joint had been well welded, the shear strength of nickel plated T2 and 4047 rechieved 70MPa.
