The MTG enzyme has been used to treat the worsted wool fabric in this paper. The testing result proves that the fabric will acquire good shrinkage resistance property after the treatment.The degradation in the cuticle protein, especially in the outer cuticle protein is of great significance for the wool fabric to acquire good anti-felting property based on the principle of the degradation anti-felting method. It is not easy for the protease to hydrolyze the protein as the existence of high concentration cystine in the outside cuticle protein. The worst wool fabric was treated with the MTG enzyme solely, and the result showed that the shrink-proofing effect was not very good. So the cooperation of different methods was carried to acquire better treating effects. The ultrasonic, the protease, the ultrasonic and hydrogen peroxide as well as the ultrasonic and 2709 enzyme are chosen as the different pretreatment condition to compare the shrinkage rate, the breaking strength and the breaking elongation after treatment. The testing result showed that the pretreatment with the ultrasonic and 2709 enzyme can spoil the wool scales and fully activate the fiber surfactant, and the following treatment with MTG enzyme can reserve the good shrink-proof properties and improve the fold return angle , wicking properties , resistant washing performance, white, handle feeling, anti-pilling and other performance of the wool fabric based on the repairing of the cross-link effect.The testing result proved that: in the pretreatment process, the best condition of 2709 enzyme is ( 1% , 30℃, 40min) under the cooperation of the ultrasonic; While the best condition for the following MTG treatment is (1%,40℃, 40 min). The shrink-proof properties, the breaking strength and the elongation of the fabric have increased 85.7%, 1.2% and 0.5% separately after the composite treatment.The scanning electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy and the Alloward chart are taken to estimate the mechanism of the MTG treatment to the wool fabric.
