The chipper has already been widely used in the production process as one of the main devices of manufacturing the wood-based panel and fibreboard. However, it has some general problems such as great input power, high energy consumption, big noise, poor working performance, and among others .The research on the cutting force change caused by cutting angle diversification of chipper's blade was carried out in this paper. First, the interaction of every kind of forces in the practical cutting process was analyzed based on the universial law of cutting trimber. Second, a minitype transducer was designed and manufactured to test the cutting force magnitudes in the process of cutting the salix-psammophila. Third, the cutting force magnitudes using the blade with the different angles including the cutting rake angleγ, clearance angleαand cutting angleβto cut the salix-psammophila were obtained through the dynamic test. Fourth, the changing laws of axial cutting force and normal cutting force, and the influences caused by them to the chip's quality were analyzed. Finally, the changing laws of the cutting force in the case of using the blade with the different cutting angle were obtained, and the feasible and reasonable design scheme of the blade's angles was put forward, which provided an important reference basis for further studying the cutting character of the chipper's blade, power match and the structure optimization of the chipper.
