This paper described the basic principle, research background and latest developments of wastewater treatment with electrolysis process. On the basis of components analyses of acrylic fiber wastewater, electrolysis process was applied for acrylic fiber wastewater treatment. In addition, the influences of electrode material, filler, electrolysis voltage, electrolysis time, pH value of raw water, conductibility on COD removal efficiency of acrylic fiber wastewater were also investigated. Resultes showed that acrylic substances and ester subsrances were dominant in acrylic fiber wastewater. COD removal efficiency was the highest with the electrolysis time of 90 min. COD removal efficiency was increased with electrolysis voltage rising, but which resulted in the anode being eroded, so the electrolysis voltage of 10 v was the first choice. There were no obvious differences founded on COD removal efficencies of different fillers used. The results confirmed that high COD removal efficiency has achieved with pH of 9. In addition, conductibility also has the important influence on COD removal efficiency.
