The wastewater during polymerization units of acrylic production, which mainly contain acrylonitrile, DMAC, and other toxic difficult degradable components harm the environment seriously. But the present acrylic wastewater treatment technology can’t degrade the features pollutants effectively and need high cost to operation. Anaerobic treatment used in acrylic wastewater treatment was rarely reported. It was used for pretreatment can enhance the biodegradability of the acrylic wastewater and then treated the wastewater economically and effectively. Therefore, this study used upflow anaerobic sludge bed (UASB) process to treat the acrylic wastewater containing DMAC, and the influence of pH, temperature, HRT, and pollutants concentration in raw water on the operational effect of the reactor was investigated. In order to provide the basis for UASB anaerobic reactors used in acrylic wastewater treatment. In this paper using upflow anaerobic sludge bed(UASB) process for treatment of acrylic fiber wastewater by the effect of influencing factors, On the basis of a large number of experimental and theoretical analysis, the following conclusions:(l)Trace metals is conducive to promoting the growth of Methanosarcina there are conducive to promoting the degradation of the acrylic fiber wastewater, inaddition, Supplement methanogens required trace metals, especially by adding small amounts of Co elements help to improve the start-up rate of the reactor in the UASB reactor during startup.(2)UASB reactor startup process should be to take the appropriate pretreatment measures to reduce the influent concentration of toxic substances and reduce the amount of water to reduce the processing load of the reactor, alkalinity and other methods to avoid the reactor to start the initial stage of acidification;(3)Under this conditions:medium temperature (30℃~38℃), influent pH7.5, hydraulic retention time (HRT) within18h, organic loading control in2.0-2.8kgCOD/(m3·d),COD/SO42-ratio as small as possible, the COD removal efficiency of the reactor can reach more than90%;(4)Under conditions of stable operation, anaerobic sludge within the reactor on the toxic waste has a strong adaptability, to increase t toxic substances load had no significant effect of removal efficiency, the UASB processsignificant removal effect on the characteristics of the acrylic fiber wastewater pollutants DMAC (5)Temperature is an important factor affecting the process of microbial life activities, control the temperature to be effective can help to improve the processing efficiency of the reactor, but even at a temperature of10℃to20℃under, the average removal can reactor70%of COD, indicating that the UASB reactor for low temperature and room temperature with DMAC acrylic fiber wastewater advantage.(6)pH, hydraulic retention time (HRT), organic loading, the COD/SO42-will have some impact on UASB reactor of anaerobic treatment effects, pH and the HRT influence the processing efficiency of the reactor, pH and HRT should be as a key controlling factor in the actual wastewater treatment.
