The Gudong oil field took the way of polymer water-flooding in some blocks for enhancing oil recovery since the December in 1994, and got the better result of oil displacement. The polymeric compound got to the product well soon during the development process of polymer water-flooding. The problem isn't solved although took many measures for many years. So the new technology of polymer shut off is studied to advance the oil displacement effect of polymer water-flooding. The element of bad effect and the feature of high water cut are analyzed according the field test of polymer water-flooding. We confirmed the orientation of cross flow and the pore path parameter with gray correlative theory and petroleum reservoir engineering way to the situation, studied the polymer cross flow mechanism of ternary combination drive, and designed the type and volume of blocking chemical .Took the measure of harness as different type according the feature of cross flow. We took technologic measures to the injection wells during early term and after polymer water-flooding, implemented 21 wells before polymer water-flooding and 37 wells after polymer water-flooding, containing 2 failure wells during early term of polymer water-flooding; at the same time we took the measure of blocking polymer with dry ash; the field effect is very marked through blocking polymer to the oil well. At last, we evaluated the whole effect, and provided referred model for development homogeneous reservoir.
