This thesis mainly studies compression elastic characteristics of warp knitted spacer fabric. Structure determines characteristics, so this paper firstly introduces its surface and space basic structures . In view of the present situation of warp knitted spacer fabrics which are mainly concentrated on the plain type , it talks about the developing methods of three kinds of warp knitted spacer fabrics with surface effects: single or double honeycomb effect fabric, mini-pattern and jacquard pattern, and puts forward an idea of modifying the common double warp knitting machine such as installment of the electronic shogging mechanism or jacquard device. In addition , it also introduces good characteristics of warp-knitted spacer fabrics——a new three-dimension material :compression property and breathability and can transfer moisture and absorb noise and so on .Secondly, study the compression properties of warp knitted spacer fabrics at emphasis. Choose the suitable tester and test standard, and introduce testers'technique guideline, function and construction. And compare its compression properties with polyurethane foam of the same thickness. As a result, we find warp knitting spacer fabric's compression resistant and return ability are better than polyurethane, that means spacer fabrics can be used longer. It analyzes the deformation of the warp knitting spacer fabrics compressed by two heads with different shapes, and sets up mechanical and stress-strain model of the pile monofilamentLastly, study pressure reduction property of warp knitted spacer fabrics. It was tested by Tekscan Advanced ClinSeat System developed by TEKCAN company. Compare warp knitted spacer fabric and polyurethane foam with the same thickness, we find warp knitted spacer fabric have better effect on pressure distribution. In addition, thickness have some effect on pressure reduction property of fabrics. Generally speaking , pressure reduction property improved as its thickness become larger in a range. At the same condition, if thicker pile monofilament is used, pressure reduction property descends.
