Cutting Force is one of main physical phenomena of metal cutting process, it has a direct impact on cutting tool wear, durability, the production of cutting heat and machined surface quality, and sometimes will cause vibration, even damage cutters or machine parts. And it is requisite data, when designing machine tools, cutting tools, fixture, especially with the development of process automation, it is often an important parameter of the cutting process for adaptive control of, which received widespread attention. The study of cutting force law is not only important to the cutting mechanism, but also is important for the actual production. There are usually two ways for the analysis of cutting forces: first, the theoretical formula of cutting force. Theoretical formula have advantage of reflecting various factors inherent link to cutting force, and help analyze problems; the disadvantage is that the calculated value of cutting force with the deducted formula which simplified many conditions, differ with the actual circumstances so widely, currently even some of the parameter values are very difficult to determine in theory, thus, the calculated results have a large different from actual results. Therefore, it can only serve as a analysis formula, rather than a practical calculation. Another way is to rely on experimental measurements and regression analysis, to obtain the empirical formula of cutting force. In practical application, the empirical formula almost was used to calculate the value of cutting force. One of the important objectives of studying drilling process is to deduce mathematical model by studying the impact of various factors on drilling forces, so as to be propitious to forecast drilling force, and drilling power, and also to provide the fundamental basis for machine tool design, determining machining process(such as parameters cutting).Drilling experiments were carried out for the material witch is used to make turnout-high manganese steel (ZGMn13) by use of orthogonal experiment. The results were dealt with multiple linear regressions by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. Experiential formula of drilling thrust force and torque was established. Through the contrasting of high-manganese steel and 45 steel empirical formula can conclude that the effect of the drill diameter on thrust force and torque is largest, feed rate of thrust force takes second place and cutting speed is minimal, but the effect of cutting speed on torque is more notable than feed rate. Therefore to increase the cutting speed can improve the efficiency of machining and reduce the energy consumption in practical production.
