The papers completed the economic evaluation of the combined process of once through coking and heavy coker wax oil cracking. The evaluation methods of the heavy oil thermal reaction evaluation plant is developed in the papers and the concepts of the apparent recycle ratio and own recycle ratio.The coke yield is very important for the delayed coking unit.The work of the papers is getting the coke yields of the vacuum residue and heavy coker wax oil and analog radiation zone feedstock in different heavy oil thermal reaction evaluation plants by different person. After that the coke yields of the combined process and the traditional delay coking would be gotten by the proprietary method so we can evaluate the economic feasibility of the combined process.The heavy coker wax oil from the bottom of the distillation tower is lighter than the vacuum residue. The coke yield will drop when the reaction temperature of the heavy coker wax oil raise. The coke yield of combined process is lower than the traditional delayed coking. So the combined process is more economical than the traditional delayed coking.
