The research of marine photosynthetic bacteria (PSB) proliferation and removal of Phosphorus and Nitrogen by immobilized PSB are studied. The results of the experiments includes:(1)Chinese herbal medicines are extracted both by boiling and ethanol solution and added into the medium respectively. The extract of Liquorice,Baikal Skullcap Root,Fructus Trichosanthis from boiling has a better effect on growth promotion, while the extract of Southernwood and Pilose Asiabell Root from ethanol solution method has a better effect.The dosage of Chinese herbal medicines has also influence the growth of PSB. 0.5%,1.0%,2.0% and 4.0% (volumetric ratio) of extracts above Chinese herbal medicines are separately added into the medium. After 120h incubation, the OD660 of marine PSB in the medium which included Fructus Trichosanthis (4.0%) and Baikal Skullcap Root (4.0%) has increased 99.1% and 68.8% respectively than control.The optimum amount of Asiabell Root for PSB is 1.0%. But big amount of Asiabell Root (4.0%) can inhibit the growth of PSB. While the PSB in Liquorice and Southernwood has increased 10.9% and 6.9%,and the optimum amount of them is 0.5%.(2)The effective chemical constituents in Fructus Trichosanthis which has better promotion to the growth of PSB is also studied. 1-Octadecene may play the role as plant hormone; Lower ester,organic acid, such as malic acid and tartrouic acid,may supply PSB with nutriment or carbon source, and promote the growth of PSB.(3) Immobilized PSB by powder active carbon has better removal efficiency. The removal efficiency of Nitrogen and Phosphorus immobilized PSB by powder active carbon is 51.8% and 66.7%, which increase 18.1% and 9.1% respectively than the PSB control. In consideration the removal efficiency and processing cost, the optimum amount of active carbon used by PSB immobilization is 2~5g for every litre wastewater.By adding powder active carbon during the PSB immobilization process, immobilized cell has the advantage of both embed and adsorption, and has better adsorption capacity. The removal efficiency of Phosphorus and Nitrogen of the marine PSB is enhanced evidently.(4) 2% of calcium sodium alginate,0.2% of PSB(wet weight),0.4% of montmorillonite and 4% of CaCl2 is the best scheme for PSB immobilized. By adding montmorillonite during the PSB immobilization process, immobilized PSB has the better removal efficiency of Phosphorus and Nitrogen. After used 3 times , immobilized beds have not expansion and transmutation.The marine PSB immobilized by calcium sodium alginate and montmorillonite shows greater removal efficiency of N and P in the condition of 30℃and light.The results are valuable to proliferation of PSB. It is also support theoretic basis for application in removal of Nitrogen and Phosphorus.
