According to trodational test system about performance of hoist braking unit is mainly done by hand, it has such shortcoming as complex operation, low efficiency and so on. Technique of virtual instruments is introduced into performance of hoist braking unit test system in this paper, and its mature function modules are used to develop test research about braking performance of hoist, and test system is developed, application test system is built.Based on virtual instruments and LabVIEW, disk braking system is analyzed. According to those indexes on braking performance of hoist, hardware scheme of test system is analyzed and constructed, which includes pressure sensors, brake clearance eddy current sensors, and data acquisition card, etc. In the following part, test software is developed with LabVIEW7.0 under Windows XP operating system. It has such functions as data acquisition, data playback, output and printing test report, etc. Database function of test system is well established by SQL Sever2000 and LabSQL.Then a hoist in Jiaozuo Fangzhuang coal mine is selected as test object, hydraulic circuit of test system is analyzed, tests on disk braking system are performed with test system designed. In the end, network test based on C/S and B/S network model is also studied. The research of this paper indicates that application of braking performance of hoist aided test system developed with technique of virtual instruments dramatically improve test precision and efficiency of braking performance of hoist. Powerful software resource can be used, and frendly inteface of test system can be developed. Such function as theory analysis, data storage and network management can be gotten conveniently. So a new path can be provided for test research of braking performance of hoist.
