With the increasing contaminant and eutrophication of water body, China has revised the old standard of civil sewage dispose, the new standard proposes specific and strict require for the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus, which leads the municipal sewage plant have to develop denitrificaiton and dephosphorization technics, besides the removal of organic matter. This paper researched on denitrificaiton and dephosphorization technics through intensifying denitrificaiton and dephosphorization technics, and applied research results to the real projects.Equipment with the scale of 250m~3/d was built in the shanghai combine sewage pre-treatment plant of first-stage construction to test treatment effect of different pollutants. The results demonstrate that MSBR process is easy to control and adjust, which operates flexibly and can realize several operating conditions, additionally, each unit of system create the most suitable environment for growth and reproduce of dominant bacteria, it requires low carbon source, but reaches highly effective biochemical reaction and nitrogen and phosphorus removal. By application to real projects, it is proved that MSBR process takes advantage of other denitrificaiton and dephosphorization technics in terms of treatment effect and construct area, which is a appropriate biological denitrificaiton and dephosphorization technics not only for large scaled municipal sewage plant but also for middle or small scaled cities and towns sewage plant.
