The coal is of full-range varieties, good quality and rich in amount in Longhu Coal mine in Qitaihe ore locus in the province of Heilongjiang. Geological reserves are 1.7 million tons; there into proportion of rare coals that mainly includes rich coal, coking coal, one third of coking coal is very high. But varied geological distribution interfaces are full of slips where the range of fall is from less than a meter to tens meters, that not only leads to less coal quantity, the low rate of mining, serious waste of resources, but also leads to enormous difficulties to the roadway layout and mining technology selection.Longhu coal mine is like that, so it does the entire Qitaihe ore locus. The reserves of thin seam are considerable not only in Longhu coal mine but also in most area of Qitaihe ore locus. Because the issues on thin seam mining occur prevalently at home and abroad, studying and solving them is one of the main tasks of experts and scholars in the mining area.The five existing panels in Longhu coal mine all face issues of the thin seam in complex geological structure. The topic of this paper is proposed base on the coal seam in the second panel in Longhu coal mine in Qitaihe ore locus. In the Longhu second panel, the particularly complex geological conditions, instability conditions of coal seam, many kinds of slips, and small recoverable reserves of coal seam determine that the primary issue that should be faced by the engineering and technical personnel is the selection of optimal coal mining technology in mining production. Base on the fact of the second panel in Longhu coal mine, this paper first studies the feasibility of fully-mechanized coal winning technology. After we know fully-mechanized coal winning technology can not be applied in Longhu coal mine, research deeply, analysis and compare detailed among the higher-general mining technology, the blasting and mining technique and mining technology, then propose the optimal coal mining technology on the second panel in Longhu coal mine and the whole Longhu coal mine.
