Nowadays oil pumping motors, which are mostly AC (alternating-current) asynchronous motor, seldom run under the energy saving status. Many energy saving technologies, such as frequency-conversion-regulating-speed, are applied into this area, and win initial success. Due to the specific characteristic of oil pumping load, normal frequency converters achieve little. To develop a special purpose frequency converter for the oil pumping motors is a new way to reduce the cost of oil pumping. This article is to design a platform for research on the special purpose frequency converter. By means of this platform, kinds of motor controlling technologies can be applied, and the same to energy saving plans. Firstly, this article expounds the basic structure and controlling theories of AC asynchronous motor, and then theories on AC-DC-AC frequency converter. SPWM-controlling and Vector-controlling are emphasized in this section. Based on these theories, a hardware design is projected. In this project, TMS320F2812, made by TI Ltd. In US, is taken as the main processor. And IR2233 is chosen as the IGBT driver of DC-AC inverter. What's more, in this project, stator currents sampling, rotor speed measuring, two kinds of communication interface, and a 320×240 LCD module are applied. The hardware design basically meets requirements of the research platform. This article achieves SPWM-controlling and SVPWM-controlling on AC asynchronous motor, and applies vector-controlling at last. This platform, which is projected by this article, is made up of several modules. In this way, it's much convenient to apply the hardware upgrade and software transplant. Other controlling theories on AC asynchronous motor can also be easily introduced and practiced with the help of the platform.
