Relied on practical engineering project, the paper studies a 320t torpedo car's body. It investigates more thoroughly on the urgent solved problem of thermal mechanics coupled in the design and analysis of torpedo car's body by using finite element analysis software named ANSYS. Furthermore, the paper uses the pyrology calculational formula to estimate the temperature of torpedo car's body inside and ektexine. It also provides significative results and concretes analysis methods.The paper investigates finite element theory,mechanical vibration theory,thermal mechanics theory. It analyzes and researches torpedo car structure through summarizing the practical project experience. This paper establishes the reasonable finite element computing model. So as to make sure the computation gets analysis results more accurate. Through the model analysis on the structure of torpedo car's body with Block Lanczos method, the first fifteen natural frequency and vibration modes are calculated. Moreover, it also looks for the idiographic measures to boost up torpedo car against vibration by analyzing the reason for that.This paper uses the thermal mechanics coupled finite element method to study the damage of working lining in the torpedo car caused by thermal shock. Considered the pressure and temperature in the body under the heat conduction, convection, radiation and the resulting thermal stress, the paper calculates the torpedo car thermal stress and temperature distribution. According to the results to indicate dangerous stress area is coincided with the actual damage. Based on analysis of temperature and thermal stress, some feasible measures both reducing molten iron temperature and falling off thermal shock are discussed. It is timely to discover accident hidden trouble, prolong torpedo car life, improve its security and decrease the loss. It also can help design and produce the new torpedo car according to the results.Through applying the FEM software, the paper searches after the methods and traits of ANSYS when it is used in solving thermal mechanics coupled problems. Using this can master the thermal load influencing degree and distributing state. Consequently it can increase the design reliability and cut the design period. The results offer useful references for the optimization design,maintenance and remedy torpedo car's body in the future. The correlative calculation methods have also some reference values to design and analysis the similar thermal mechanics coupled.
